Things I Love

I love that we just painted the bedroom!

I don't know yet if I love the paint.

But right now I like it!

I love the rain.

I love that the weather has been spring-y recently.

I love that we have sold Tom's desk and that we have sold my bike.

I love the bagels I made today. They taste like bagels are supposed to taste.

I love the maple bars I made recently. Cream cheese frosting; walnuts.

I love that I saw a cardinal outside my window.

I love that Alex and I went to a diner recently on a bad day and it made us feel good and I had the best burger ever (bleu cheese; bacon) and a peanut butter chocolate milkshake.

I love that I met another radical feminist the other day and we had such a good time!

I love that I know now which chocolate chip cookie recipe is the best, because I have made and directly compared them all.

I love that they make mini paint rollers!

I love that I am blogging right now! I hope I do it more often.

I love that I wrote a new song a couple weeks ago, and I love that it is GOOD. I hope I do it more often!

I love the Indigo Girls and I love Reel Big Fish and I love the King's Singers. I love the Hush Sound and I love Sarah Vaughn!

I love Naomi Novik's Temeraire books.

I love really really really good honey - but I am sad that my favorite kind is sold only in California!

I love that I figured out how to make whole wheat sourdough bread.

I love the Sunnyside mural on my walk to the subway!

  1. Wow, very impressive bagel! (My father always said the plural of bagel is bagel). Lots of colors in your bedroom - I like! Maybe you can make an asterisk on your sourdough bread instead of an x/cross. Seriously there isn't great honey out there? I hope you blog more, too. Did you get a couple bucks for the bike? Good riddance on that giganto desk. Lovely post, Sho!

  2. I hope you and Alex do not have any more bad days. What is the brand of California honey you like and i will send it to you. Are the bagels small and crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside? That is how a I remember New York bagels, not these puffy 400 calorie bagels that you get at the store. Love your photos. Say hello to Ale for me.

  3. Yes, the bagels are small and crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside - it is exactly what I want in a bagel! Commercial bagels are getting worse and worse.

I am liking the bedroom more and more, especially as I continue to paint the trim. It is both cheerful and calming!

My favorite honey is Wild Mountain Raw 100% Pure Natural Uncooked Honey. I have found good honey in New York, but none of it measures up to Wild Mountain, which I bought a couple years ago in an Albertson's in Irvine and of which I ate the last spoonful about two days ago!
